FW Sports Investment Fund Invests In Star India-Backed Smaaash Entertainment

LP, a Mauritius-based private equity fund, "acquired a significant minority stake in Mumbai-based Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.," according to the Indian BUSINESS STANDARD. This "is the first round of private equity funding into the company." Smaaash's first such sports-based entertainment center "was started in 2012 in Mumbai." The center "is home to different sports such as cricket, football and racing." and "are also associated" with this venture. Smaaash Founder & Dir Shripal Morakhia said, "Our plan is to open multiple centers across India and globally over the next couple of years, and FSIF’s involvement will help us immensely with our global plans" (BUSINESS STANDARD, 5/13).
