Adidas Reorganizes Basketball Exec Team, With Lawrence Norman Headed To Europe

Adidas VP/Global Basketball LAWRENCE NORMAN will be named adidas South Europe managing director, and while his replacement “has not been named,” adidas Head of Global Basketball Sports Marketing CHRIS GRANCIO is “managing the business in the interim,” according to Allan Brettman of the Portland OREGONIAN. During his tenure, Norman oversaw the brand's signings of NBA Brooklyn Nets forward KEVIN GARNETT -- "who has since departed the brand" -- as well as Houston center DWIGHT HOWARD, Chicago guard DERRICK ROSE, Washington guard JOHN WALL and Portland guard DAMIAN LILLARD. Meanwhile, former adidas Group South Korea Managing Dir ZION ARMSTRONG has been named adidas Brand Dir in North America, beginning Aug. 1. Armstrong will report to adidas Group North America President MARK KING (OREGONIAN, 5/10).
