Media Notes: Spanish Newspaper AS Becomes Official Media Partner Of Euroleague Basketball

Spanish newspaper AS and Euroleague Basketball "have reached an agreement in which AS becomes the official Spanish-language media outlet for Euroleague fans." New content in a "special section on AS.com will allow readers to follow the upcoming Final Four -- which will run from May 16-18 -- including video of top plays, news, articles, interviews and more" (AS, 5/10). ... German public broadcaster ZDF announced that "OneRepublic's song 'Love Runs Out' will be the channel's official World Cup song" (DWDL, 5/12). ... With the FIFA World Cup a month away, official FIFA partner Sony Corp. announced on Monday the launch of One Stadium Live, a social network site for football fans. One Stadium Live is the latest of Sony's digital initiatives to allow football fans from around the globe to share in the World Cup (Sony). ... Sky Internet TV service Now TV "is to offer a refund after fans faced problems viewing key Premier League games on Sunday." Users of the Sky Go online player "also faced difficulties as the football season reached its climax" with games including Man City against West Ham (London GUARDIAN, 5/12). ... Infront Sports & Media and the German Ski Association (DSV) extended their partnership through the '20-21 season. It includes int'l media rights of all FIS World Cup events in Germany. Approximately 25 annual FIS World Cup events held in Germany will be included across the disciplines of alpine skiing, ski jumping, cross-country, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing and snowboard. It also includes the most popular German ski jumping events of the Vierschanzentournee and the FIS Alpine downhill skiing event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Infront). ... Brazil launched a new int'l advertising campaign produced by the Ministry of Tourism through the Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur). The campaign consists of the videos "Meetings" and "Dancing," which highlight various unique Brazilian attributes: culture, expericence of visiting the country and the joy of the Brazilian people. The campaign, which aims to reach 1.3 million people, will run on TV, the web, social networks and on public roads in 113 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia (Brazil Tourism).
