Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix Draws Total Crowd Of 205,000-Plus Over Race Weekend

The Spanish F1 Grand Prix held over the weekend drew more than 205,000 spectators to the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, including 91,480 to Sunday's race, according to Manuel Franco of AS. Included in the crowd "were a number of famous politicians and athletes." Catalonia regional government President Artur Mas was "surrounded by his advisers." Also "in attendance were former Dakar Rally champions Marc Coma and Carlos Sainz, MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and Spanish Motorsports Federation President Carlos Gracia." Footballers "in the crowd included Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez" and Spanish figure skater Javier Fernández also attended (AS, 5/12).
