Fans Will Not Be Segregated At 2015 Rugby World Cup, Organizers Say

Tournament organizers confirmed that supporters "will not face segregation" at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, according to the PA. England Rugby 2015 CEO Debbie Jevans said, "To be absolutely clear: we have no plans to segregate fans. The beauty of what we're doing is that we don't have to worry about segregation, and there won't be any segregation." Tickets for the tournament will be on general sale between Sept. 12-29. Organizers will release 500,000 tickets this month for sale to supporters through rugby clubs affiliated to the Rugby Football Union. Int'l Rugby Board CEO Brett Gosper "remains confident next year's showpiece will eclipse all previous tournaments in terms of revenue." Gosper: "We believe that Rugby World Cup 2015 is shaping up to become the record-breaking tournament. The hospitality will be the biggest ever for any event in the U.K., including the 2012 London Games, and we are seeing 146 percent increases on previous World Cup packages" (PA, 5/6).
