Media Notes: Saran Media Scores Central Asian World Cup Package

Turkish rights agency Saran Media "has signed a deal to become the exclusive media rights distributor" of this summer's World Cup in Brazil in four central Asian countries. Saran "will market packages" that include all 64 live games from the upcoming World Cup, as well as the U20 Women’s World Cup, in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan (SOCCEREX, 4/29). ... Moroccan broadcaster SNRT "has reportedly agreed a deal to broadcast every game from next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by the North African nation." The Morocco Tribune newspaper reported that all 32 games will be broadcast on SNRT’s free-to-air services. SNRT, or Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Télévision, is Morocco’s public broadcaster (SOCCEREX, 4/29). ... German free-to-air TV channel DMAX "will live broadcast the boxing fight between WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBA champion Marcos Maidana on Sunday morning." The broadcast "will start at 3am German time" (DWDL, 4/28).
