Ireland's RTE Becomes Third Sponsor Of Gaelic Athletic Association's Football Championships
The Gaelic Athletic Association and Irish broadcaster RTE have "announced a new deal for sponsorship of the senior football championships," according to SUNDAY WORLD. GAAGO is a new "subscription-based online streaming service being launched by the GAA and RTÉ Digital and will be the championships' third sponsorship partners alongside Eircom and SuperValu." GAAGO will offer live and on-demand GAA games, starting with this year's championships, to users in Ireland and abroad (SUNDAY WORLD, 4/29). In Dublin, Martin Breheny reported the "link-up comes less than a month after the row between the GAA and RTE over coverage of the Sky Sports deal." GAA President Liam O'Neill accused RTE of a "lack of balance in their approach," both on news and sports programs (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 4/29).
