Bundesliga Club Werder Bremen Objects To DFL License Restrictions

Bundesliga club Werder Bremen "has reportedly lodged an objection against the license restrictions by the German Football League (DFL)," according to NWZ ONLINE. The restriction requires the club "to demonstrate additional liquidity" of about €4M ($5.5M). Managing Dir Klaus Filbry said, "We are expecting that after the second round of decisions, at the latest, we will receive our license without any restrictions." When the club submitted its documents, "it did so as No. 11 on the TV money list," which correlates to €23M ($31.8M). However, back then, the DFL "expected that Bremen could, in the worst case, drop to No. 15, which would lower TV income" to €19M ($26.3M) (NWZ ONLINE, 4/24).
