Facility Notes: Embassy Of Japan Presents New Baseball Training Center To Ghana

The Embassy of Japan has presented new baseball and softball venues to the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association. It is the first such training center in Ghana. It has been named Koshien Ghana Japan Baseball and Softball Field. The Embassy of Japan backed the project with a $123,453 grant (World Baseball Softball Confederation). ... Senior Int'l Cricket Council official Richard Done "gave a cursory nod of approval on Thursday to Mission Road -- Hong Kong's only international-size cricket ground." He assured local chiefs that even if the venue fails to get a final clearance, the national team "could still meet its international obligations overseas." Done: "Size-wise this ground looks like it is okay" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 4/24).
