Mumbai Indians Owner Mukesh Ambani Tops List Of Wealthiest IPL Owners

A Wealth-X estimate said that Reliance Industries Chair/Managing Dir Mukesh Ambani "is the wealthiest Indian cricket team owner" with an estimated net worth of $21.2B, according to the PTI. Through Reliance, Ambani owns Indian Premier League defending champions Mumbai Indians. Ambani’s worth "is almost ten times the personal fortune" of Sunrisers Hyderabad Owner Kalanidhi Maran, who is at the second spot among the IPL owners and represents a "significant chunk of the collective total." Collectively the eight ultra high net worth individuals on the Wealth-X list control $25.17B. Maran "was placed in the second position" with a net worth of $2.2B, followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore Owner Vijay Mallya ($640M), and Kolkata Knight Riders Owner Shah Rukh Khan ($600M). Others in the list include Delhi Daredevils Owner Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao ($270M), Rajasthan Royals Owner Manoj Badale ($160M), Chennai Super Kings Owner N. Srinivasan ($70M) and Kings XI Punjab Owner Preity Zinta ($30M) (PTI, 4/23).
