The Board of Control for Cricket in India "has appointed a three-member investigative panel to look into allegations of corruption in the Indian Premier League," according to the BBC. Its members are former law enforcement agency head R.K. Raghavan, former high court judge J.N. Patel and former Indian cricket captain Ravi Shastri. It comes after an Indian court "urged the board to probe spot-fixing claims against 13 players and officials" (BBC, 4/20).
The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday decided to suggest to the Supreme Court a three-member committee to investigate the IPL betting and match-fixing scandal. A BCCI working committee meeting proposed the names of former India cricketer Ravi Shastri, former chief justice of the Calcutta high court JN Patel and ex-CBI director RK Raghavan to the panel.
In what appeared to be a triumph for sidelined BCCI president N Srinivasan, the names were finalised in spite of strong objections by former BCCI chief and Srinivasan's rival Shashank Manohar, who represented Vidarbha Cricket Association in the meeting.

In New Delhi, Firoz Mirza wrote in what appears to be a triumph for sidelined BCCI President N. Srinivasan, the names were finalized "in spite of strong objections by former BCCI President and Srinivasan's rival Shashank Manohar, who represented Vidarbha Cricket Association in the meeting" (

Srinivasan’s biggest advantage has been a weak opposition. This time, it could be more vociferous and will be led by Vidarbha and Punjab Cricket Association representatives. Interim president, Shivlal Yadav, known to be from the Srinivasan camp, will be in the chair, and it will be crucial how he handles the group demanding a strong probe panel. - See more at: http://www.hindustantimes.com/sports-news/cricketnews/battle-lines-drawn-ahead-of-bcci-emergent-meeting/article1-1210129.aspx#sthash.wSuKyHHD.dpuf
