Marketplace Roundup: DFB Unveils Allianz As Women's Bundesliga Naming-Rights Partner

The German Football Federation (DFB) on Thursday "officially unveiled insurance company Allianz as the naming-rights partner of the women's Bundesliga." In addition to the naming rights, the five-year deal "will include logo presence on the sleeves of all Bundesliga clubs, on ad boards, in the mixed zones and in the surrounding of stadiums." While the two parties "did not reveal any financial details," sources familiar with the deal said that it is worth between €1M-€2M ($1.4M-$2.8M) annually (HANDELSBLATT, 4/10). ... The Spanish Football League (LFP), multimedia group Mediapro and Universidad Católica de Murcia have developed the first native Google Glass app allowing a coaching staff to obtain statistics both before and during a match. The app uses advanced statistics system Mediacoach. The product allows for analysis of games in real time and the extraction of data from each game (LFP). ... Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore "signed a one-year principal sponsorship agreement with Huawei India," the China-based global information and communications technology company that set up business in Bangalore 15 years ago. The company "has been associated with" Arsenal, Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain and National Rugby League side Canberra Raiders (THE HINDU, 4/13).
