Media Notes: 'The Sun' Allowed To Attend CL Return Leg In Munich After Paper Apologizes

The reporters of British tabloid "The Sun" will be allowed to attend Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinal return leg between Bayern Munich and ManU after it "apologized for its 'offensive' headline following the first leg match." The Sun ran the headline "You Schwein" after the first matchup (DWDL, 4/7). ... German news network n-tv "will air a weekly recap of the Porsche Carrera Cup race weekend on Mondays at 6:30pm starting on May 5." In addition, the channel will live broadcast the FIA Formula 3 race. The season-opening race will take place in Silverstone on April 19. N-tv's broadcast will start at 11:15am (DWDL, 4/7). ... Super Rugby side New South Wales Waratahs coach Michael Cheika "has confirmed he had been contacted by SANZAR and notified of the complaint against him by South African broadcaster Super Sport." The broadcaster has alleged Cheika "threatened a camera operator" who was filming him on the sideline during the Sharks' 32-10 victory in Durban. SANZAR "has footage of the exchange but no audio," meaning the camera operator's version of events could be hard to prove (THE AGE, 4/7). ... FIFA is investing $1M in a TV production company for Brazilian students during the World Cup as part of its legacy plans. The program will give 438 Brazilian students the chance to gain paid experience with a World Cup broadcast (FIFA).
