GUUS HIDDINK has been announced as the next coach of Holland and "will take charge of the national team at the end of the World Cup," replacing LOUIS VAN GAAL. In "an unusual move," the Dutch football association, the KNVB, "confirmed Hiddink's contract would run only to the end of Euro 2016," after which time assistant coach DANNY BLIND "will assume control and lead the bid for qualification to the 2018 World Cup" (London INDEPENDENT, 3/28). ... The England & Wales Cricket Board has appointed GORDON HOLLINS "to the newly created post" of COO. Collins "has been promoted in order to reduce the workload" of CEO DAVID COLLIER. Hollins's previous title was ECB managing director, professional game (PA, 3/27). ... MIGUEL GUILLEN "has stepped down" as president of La Liga Real Betis, with MANUEL DOMINGUEZ PLATAS "taking over." Dominguez Platas "was formerly secretary of the board and the board itself has three new members" -- FRANCISCO ESTAPA, DIEGO GARCIA LEON and THOMAS SOLANO. FERNANDO CASAS PASCUAL "has been named" VP, replacing PABLO GOMEZ FALCON, who also resigned (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 3/30).
