Marketplace Roundup: Real Madrid's Ronaldo, Pelé Star In Fly Emirates Commercial

A new commercial for Fly Emirates stars Real Madrid's Ronaldo and former footballer Pelé, with "both stars being humbled by fellow passengers." First, "Ronaldo hears passengers discussing the greatest player of his era and thinks they are referring to him -- only to realize they are talking about Pelé." Later in the ad, a fan "walks up while Ronaldo and Pelé are talking and asks Pelé -- without recognizing him -- to take a photo of the fan and Ronaldo together" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 3/30). ... EPL Chelsea players Eden Hazard, Demba Ba, André Schurrle, David Luiz and Petr Čech participated in the NBA's #HalfCourt challenge after a practice on Thursday. Each of the five players attempted five half-court shots in a "cross marketing event to introduce NBA fans to Chelsea and its stars" (LA AFICION, 3/29). ... Independent News & Media and Munster Rugby "have extended their successful sponsorship agreement" with Cork’s historic Musgrave Park now to be renamed Irish Independent Park. The branding "is one of the key elements" of a 10-year partnership agreement between Munster Rugby and INM (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 3/28). ... Polish side Wisła Kraków SA and marketing agency UFA Sports have signed a long-term marketing cooperation (UFA Sports).
