Media Notes: Sweden's SVT And TV4 Land Women's Euro 2017

SVT and TV4 "have been awarded the Swedish broadcast rights" to UEFA Women’s Euro 2017. Public broadcaster SVT and TV4, which has pay-TV and free-to-air commercial channels, "will share coverage of the tournament" after agreeing to terms with UEFA. The continent’s 16 leading women’s national sides "will play a total of 31 matches," with the host nation set to be decided by UEFA in December (SOCCEREX, 3/27). ... Barcelona has widened its int'l presence with the launch of a new profile on Chinese social network, Sina Weibo, which has over 500 million users. The official Barcelona profile (http://www.weibo.com/fcbarcelona) will allow fans to access exclusive content, information and photos, and be able to participate directly, despite the distance (FC Barcelona). ... MP & Silva has acquired media rights for the 2014 Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana for selected territories in Asia. The deal will see the 2014 Copa Libertadores available in Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Macau SAR, Myanmar, New Zealand, South Korea and Vietnam (MP & Silva).
