Marketplace Roundup: Brazilian Side Santos FC Names Corr Plastik As Sleeve Sponsor

Brazilian side Santos FC has "announced pipes and fittings company Corr Plastik as a sleeve sponsor." The new deal will see the company’s logo displayed on the sleeves of the Brasileiro club's playing shirts through Dec. '15. It "was previously positioned on the rear of the shirt following the signing of an initial agreement in 2012" (SOCCEREX, 3/26). ... Second Bundesliga club VfR Aalen has extended its main sponsorship deal with cleaning product retailer proWIN for another year. The logo of proWIN will continue to be featured on the front of the jersey through the end of the '14-15 season. The deal was brokered by sports marketing agency Sportfive (VfR Aalen). ... French car manufacturer Citroën will be the new sleeve sponsor of Argentine first division side Boca Juniors starting next season. Citroën replaces French gas company Total, the club's current sponsor (MARCA DE GOL, 3/25). ... Land Rover has announced a sponsorship extension with Burghley Horse Trails through '17. Burghley Horse Trails will take place from Sept. 4-7 (Land Rover). ... The Australian Rugby Union announced that sports manufacturer Gilbert has signed a five-year contract to be the exclusive ball and body armor supplier to the ARU and the Qantas Wallabies. This agreement will see Gilbert balls exclusively used in each Test match, the Gold Coast Sevens and all representative matches governed by the ARU (ARU). ... The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) signed a 10-year agreement with SPR Sports "that will see the company assemble and operate an official store network" on behalf of the organization. SPR "will manage the stores through the same franchise system" it employs in conjunction with Brazilian clubs Corinthians, Vasco, Botafogo, Cruzeiro, Internacional and Vitória (SOCCEREX, 3/26).
