DFB To Build New Performance Center On Frankfurt's Horse Racecourse, Move HQs

The German Football Federation (DFB) "will move within Frankfurt and build a new performance center for €50M ($69M)," according to DIE WELT. DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach on Friday made it official as he put his signature on the DFB's "project of the century." He said, "We want to create something here, which is unique in the world." The federation "will build an academy on the site of the Frankfurt's horse racecourse by the end of '18." The project, which will have an estimated price tag of around €50M, "is expected to start in '17." The DFB will also leave its current headquarters in Frankfurt and move into a new building that will cost an additional €10M ($13.8M).
