Spain's CSD Announces It Will Increase Its '14 Contributions To Sports Federations To $53M
Spain's Superior Sports Council (CSD) on Tuesday made public the "amount of money it will provide in provisional grants to Spain's sports federations" in '14, according to EL CONFIDENCIAL. The CSD's contribution is rising to €38.1M ($52.9M) from €34.1M a year ago. The quantity allocated in '13 "represented a 34% decrease" from '12. Among the "federations that will receive greater contributions this year," those that stand out include handball (33%), swimming (29.1%), basketball (33.2%), gymnastics (17.3%), winter sports (17.6%), tennis (17.8%) and athletics (23.3%) (EL CONFIDENCIAL, 3/18).
