League Notes: FIBA Adopts New General Statutes Following Unanimous Vote

Int'l Basketball Federation (FIBA) members have voted unanimously in favor of a new set of general statutes at an Extraordinary Congress in Istanbul "to vote on the statutes that will bring changes to the governance structure of FIBA and strengthen the organisation in view of future challenges and strategic growth opportunities" (INSIDE THE GAMES, 3/16). ... Organizers said Monday that this month's Malaysia Grand Prix "will go ahead as planned despite the national crisis surrounding a missing airliner, but will be more subdued this year out of respect." Sepang Int'l Circuit CEO Razlan Razali said, "People are not in the mood for an event like this. Everywhere, be it on radio, newspaper, TV or social media, it is all about finding MH370" (AFP, 3/17).
