Boxing Fight Broadcast Draws High Ratings On Sat.1; Kabel Eins Scores With Europa League

German private-TV channel Sat.1 "attracted 4.2 million viewers for its boxing broadcast on Saturday night," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. The third fight between German boxers Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham, which started at 11:30pm, obtained a market share of 23.9%. In the target demographic 14-49, the fight was watched by 1.47 million viewers and had a market share of 20.7%. However, Sat.1's pre and post-fight coverages were not as successful as the fight itself. The channel's "ran" program ahead of the bout attracted 2.62 million and had an 11% share starting at 10:45pm. The fight's highlights, which Sat.1 showed at 12:25am, obtained a market share of 18.1% as 1.96 million viewers tuned in. In the target demographic, the pre and post-fight coverage had market shares of 12.1 and 14.7%, respectively, as a maximum of 1.09 million tuned in. Abraham defeated Stieglitz by split decision (QUOTENMETER, 3/2).

EUROPA LEAGUE: QUOTENMETER's Kevin Kyburz reported private-TV channel kabel eins "received high ratings for its broadcast of the Europa League round of 32 matchup between Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Porto on Thursday evening." The pregame coverage, which started at 6:45pm, was watched by 590,000 viewers and had a 2.6% market share. In the target demographic, the pregame show obtained a 2.7% share as 190,000 viewers tuned in. The kickoff of the game was watched by 1.63 million viewers and received a 6.3% share. In the target demographic, the broadcast had a viewership of 600,000 viewers and a market share of 7.5%. The halftime analysis was watched by 1.28 million viewers and obtained a market share of 6.2% in the target demographic. The second half, which started at 8pm, attracted 2.67 million and had an 8.4% share. In the target demographic 14-49, the 3-3 draw was watched by 1.1 million viewers and obtained a 9.9% share. The analysis of the game attracted 2.05 million viewers including 950,000 in the target demographic. The numbers translated into market shares of 6.3% and 8%, respectively (QUOTENMETER, 2/28).
