Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation Pays $753K In Bonuses To German Olympic Athletes

The members of Germany's Sochi Winter Olympics team have received a total of €548,500 ($753,000) in bonuses from the Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation, according to the SID. The German team won a total of 19 medals including eight Gold, six Silver and five Bronze at the Sochi Games. In comparison to the 2010 Vancouver Games, the Sporthilfe slightly increased its bonus payments. A Gold Medal was rewarded with €20,000 ($27,500), €15,000 ($20,600) for Silver and €10,000 ($13,700) for Bronze (SID, 2/27).
