Chelsea Announces Collaboration With Animated Television Series 'The Simpsons'

EPL side Chelsea announced a new collaboration with the animated TV series "The Simpsons." In partnership with Twentieth Century Fox, the Simpsons collaboration will see a co-created line of Chelsea-branded merchandise featuring Springfield's famous father and son, Homer and Bart Simpson. To celebrate the announcement, five Chelsea players -- Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Fernando Torres -- have been "Simpson-ised." Terry said, "It's great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters" (Chelsea FC). Joining Barcelona, Zenit St. Petersburg, Sport Club Corinthians, FC Porto, Juventus and Boca Juniors, Chelsea will co-create a broad line of branded merchandise that will be available to consumers in '14. The football-themed episode of the The Simpsons will feature Homer and his recruitment as a football referee, after Lisa praises his integrity in a Springfield Elementary speech contest held on the youth football field (Twentieth Century Fox).
