Int'l sports marketing agency IEC in Sports has appointed CARSTEN HENDRICH as COO. Hendrich will oversee the media rights business for IEC Owner Lagardère Unlimited's media and production operations across Europe. Hendrich will report to IEC CEO and Lagardère Unlimited Head of Media & Productions in Europe DANIEL FRANCK. Hendrich joined IEC in '03 at the agency's head office in Stockholm (IEC in Sports). ... French coach ALAIN PERRIN "has been appointed head coach" of China's national football team, "ending rumours" that MARCELLO LIPPI "was being lined up for the role." Chinese FA VP YU HONGCHEN confirmed via official news portal China.org.cn that Perrin would replace interim manager FU BO, "who has filled the role since July." The overseas website of the official People's Daily reported that he would earn less than $1M a year. Perrin's appointment "came to many as a surprise" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 2/26). ... Spanish second division side Mallorca announced on Wednesday that LLUIS CARRERAS will replace JOSE LUIS OLTRA as coach. Carreras' top assistants will be ROBERTO BONANO and JAVIER DORADO (MARCA, 2/26).
