Event Notes: FIFA Team To Inspect Cooperage Football Ground Ahead Of India U17 World Cup

A FIFA team visited the Cooperage football ground in Mumbai and adjacent facilities "as part of inspection of venues in India shortlisted by the All India Football Federation" to host the 2017 U17 World Cup (THE HINDU, 2/23). ... The Thailand Open badminton tournament "has been cancelled due to political problems." Organizers have decided "to scrape the tournament, which was scheduled to take place in Bangkok from June 3-8, because it is not likely that the on-going political crisis will be over in the near future" (BANGKOK POST, 2/23).
