Sochi Winter Olympics Broadcasts Continue To Draw High Ratings On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "continues to draw high ratings with its Winter Olympics broadcasts," according to Timo Nöthling of QUOTENMETER. ZDF's broadcast of the men's hockey match between Russia and Norway attracted 2.24 million viewers starting at 1:38pm on Tuesday. The number translated into a market share of 20.1%. The ice skating competition, which started at 2:14pm, was watched by 2.99 million viewers and had a 24.5% share. Later during the afternoon, the women's two-man bobsled event attracted 3.56 million viewers and obtained a 26.2% share. ZDF's broadcast of the men's freestyle skiing halfpipe event recorded a market share of 16.2% as 3.61 million people tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 2/19).

BARÇA-MAN CITY: The EP reported Barcelona's 2-0 defeat of Man City on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal attracted 7.7 million viewers on Spanish broadcaster TVE's La 1, which translated into a 37.7% market share. These figures mark the "best ratings of the season." A total of 15.7 million viewers tuned in for at least one minute of the match (EP, 2/19).
