Liga MX Monterrey's Estadio Tecnológico To Be Demolished In Urban Regeneration Project

Monterrey, Mexico's Estadio Tecnológico, home to Liga MX side Monterrey, "will be demolished," according to Tómas Víctor López of LA AFICION. Stadium execs "unveiled an urban regeneration project in Monterrey's Tec District that will include the demolition of the stadium." The "aim of the project is to create new buildings, including libraries and cafeterias in the area where the stadium is currently located." Construction of a new 10,000-capacity stadium is planned "as the new home of Borregos Salvajes, a local American football team," while Liga MX Monterrey will move to a new stadium currently under construction. CF Monterrey's new stadium will be completed this year and is expected to seat more than 50,000 (LA AFICION, 2/17).
