The Madrid City Council's "four representative groups all voted in favor of a proposal to name a street or public area" in the city's Hortaleza district after former Atlético and Spanish national team coach LUIS ARAGONÉS, who died in early February. Madrid Arts, Sports & Tourism Councilman PEDRO CORRAL "highlighted that Aragonés set the foundation for Spain's World Cup win" in '10 (EFE, 2/17). ... French investigators said Monday that former F1 driver MICHAEL SCHUMACHER's ski accident in the Alps "was not due to safety breaches by the ski resort." Prosecutor Patrick Quincy said, "There were no [safety] breaches by anybody. The accident occurred in an off-piste zone." Quincy added that the markers and other signs at the ski resort of Meribel "conformed to current French laws." He said in a statement that "the rock that had caused Schumacher’s fall and the one that his head smashed into" were respectively 10.4 and 4.5 meters from the authorized slopes (London TELEGRAPH, 2/17).
