Chilean Cycling Club PinoRoad Forced To Suspend Activity As CEO Disappears
Chilean professional cycling team PinoRoad "announced that it has suspended its activity due to the disappearance of CEO Juan Pablo Pino Zúñiga," according to J.A. Ezquerro of AS. PinoRoad is considering "taking legal action against Pino Zúñiga for fraud." The club "registered successfully with the UCI" through Chilean cycling federation Fecichile on Feb. 5. Sponsorship agreements that "were presented and verified could have been fraudulent and taken advantage of by Pino Zúñiga." PinoRoad was "scheduled to start the season at the Vuelta a Murcia on March 1" (AS, 2/17).
