Marketplace Roundup: Bayern Munich, Imtech Agree To End Deal Ahead Of Time

Bayern Munich and sponsor Imtech Deutschland "have agreed to end their partnerhip ahead of time." Imtech, which has come under financial trouble, "decided to realign its sponsorship strategy." Imtech's new strategy "will not focus on sport anymore but on social commitment" (TZ, 2/10). ... Bundesliga club Werder Bremen has "reportedly signed an advertising agreement with Turkish Airlines" (SOCCEREX, 2/11). ... German construction industry supply company Schüco Int'l KG "has extended its stadium naming rights agreement" with 2nd Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld for a further three years. The agreement, which was brokered by rights agency SPORTFIVE, will see the venue remain known as the Schüco Arena until at least June '17 (SOCCEREX, 2/11). ... Premiership rugby side Saracens is "set to announce a new sponsorship deal with financial firm CME Group that will see the derivatives specialist’s logo adorn the back of the north London rugby club’s shirts." The long-term deal, which is understood to be worth a six-figure sum to the Premiership side, "will also see one of the entrances at their Allianz Park stadium renamed CME Group Gate" (CITY AM, 2/11).
