Former Senior VP/Managing Dir of IMG Artists Asia Pacific MINDY COPPIN will now serve as Octagon’s Head of Asia Pacific Business Development and Strategic Initiatives. At IMG Artists, the 17-year industry veteran produced major events such as LIVE Singapore and the Singapore Sun Festival. Coppin will be stationed at Octagon’s office headquarters in Singapore, which serves as the regional hub for Octagon’s corporate consulting business (SPORTS AGENT BLOG, 1/29). ... Commonwealth Games Federation CEO MIKE HOOPER "has announced his intention to leave the organisation after this year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow." Hooper was appointed as the Federation's first full-time CEO in '00 "having previously held the post of secretary general with the New Zealand Olympic Committee." Hooper "is credited with overseeing its development from a volunteer-based administration and establishing its first professional headquarters" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 1/30). ... Former Brazil World Cup player ZICO "has left his job" as coach of Qatari club Al Gharafa just under six months into a two-year contract, he said on his website. Zico said he had "entered into an agreement for the amicable cancelation" of his contract after his team suffered three defeats in a row (REUTERS, 1/30).
