Event Notes: Vintage F1 Cars To Return To The Streets Of Adelaide In April

F1 cars "will return to the city's streets this year as part of an inaugural Adelaide Motorsport Festival." More than 150 rare, vintage and sports vehicles with an estimated value topping A$10M ($8.8M) "will feature in the 'museum in motion' in Victoria Park on April 13." Ten iconic F1 vehicles -- all from private collections from across Australia and the globe -- "are expected including the first Lotus produced for the 1957 season, a 1974 March and a 1985 Beatrice Lola Hart" (THE ADVERTISER, 1/29). ... The Eurocup game between Ukrainian side Khimik Yuzhne and German club Alba Berlin, which was scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed due to heavy snowstorms. Alba was unable to make it to Yuzhne in time to play the game because its fight was canceled. Alba was stuck in Kharkov, Ukraine, 650km away from Yuzhne. The game will be rescheduled, pending weather conditions (Eurocup Basketball). ... Extra tickets "will be made available for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games after the netball venue was switched." Early rounds "will still be played at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, but the final will now be played at the nearby Hydro." The Hydro "has capacity to hold an additional 4,000 people" (BBC, 1/28).
