Spanish Basketball League, Superior Sports Council Meet To Address League's Issues
Spain's Superior Sports Council (CSD) on Tuesday agreed to the creation of a new group formed by 10 Spanish Basketball League (ACB) clubs "with the objective of seeking solutions for the league," according to the EP. CSD President Miguel Cardenal attended the meeting, "which lasted three hours as club leaders looked to maintain the league's status as the leader of European basketball." It was also decided that Joventut President Jordi Villacampa, Cajasol President Fernando Moral and Estudiantes President José Asensio "would share the role of spokesperson for the new group." The ACB "has been without a president after two failed attempts to elect a new leader." The CSD "agreed to act as a catalyst to look for solutions, overcome obstacles and confront challenges alongside the ACB" (EP, 1/21).
