Event Notes: Southeast Asian Games Finish After Three Weeks With Closing Ceremony

Myanmar "drew a close to three weeks of sporting celebration with a lavish Closing Ceremony that marked the end" of the 27th Southeast Asian Games on Sunday. The ceremony also "marked the start of Singapore's hosting of the 2015 edition" (STRAITS TIMES, 12/22). ... After "hosting the first season of the Hockey India League (HIL) successfully," Ranchi, the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand, "has been chosen as the venue for the Round of women's Hockey World League (HWL)." The int'l field hockey federation (FIH), "in consultation with Hockey India," has named Ranchi as one of  the three hosts across the world. The matches will be played in March '15 (TIMES OF INDIA, 12/21). ... Para-cycling "will have a Track World Championships in Mexico in April" in addition to "the Road Worlds already scheduled for August" in the U.S. The event "will take place at altitude in Aguascalientes" from April 10-13 (BBC, 12/21).
