Media Notes: Sky Sports F1 Wins 'Best TV Broadcaster Award For Outstanding Coverage'

Sky Sports F1 has been awarded the "Best TV Broadcaster Award for Outstanding Coverage" by the FIA for the second year running. The prize recognizes the int'l broadcaster for breadth and quality of F1 coverage. Sky Sports F1 has now won the award for both seasons since its launch in '12 (Sky Sports). ... ManU defender Rio Ferdinand "will assess his former England teammates' performances during the World Cup next year." The BBC said that Ferdinand "will be part of its punditry team in Brazil alongside former England players Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Phil Neville" (AP, 12/6).
