Austrian Football Bundesliga Loses Fans In Sixth Consecutive Decline In Attendance

Austria's top flight football league, the tipp3 Bundesliga, has revealed "decreasing attendance numbers for the sixth consecutive season," according to the KURIER. The Bundesliga's attendance numbers "have been declining" since the '07-08 season. During the current season, the league attracted an average attendance of 6,313 fans, which is the lowest number since '02-03. The league's top club in terms of attendance is Rapid Vienna with an average attendance of 13,201. However, only three years ago the club "welcomed on average more than 16,000 fans to its home games" (KURIER, 12/8).
