Davis Cup First-Round Matchup Between Germany-Spain In Frankfurt Virtually Sold Out

The Davis Cup first-round matchup between Germany and Spain, which will take place in Frankfurt between Jan. 31-Feb. 2, "has been virtually sold out," according to the SID. The German Tennis Federation (DTB) announced on Thursday that "only a limited number of tickets are still available." The DTB statement said, "That hasn't happened in more than 15 years." The game will be played at the 5,000-seat Fraport Arena, which is the home of Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Frankfurt Skyliners. German Davis Cup team captain Carsten Arriens "hopes to compete with his top lineup of Tommy Haas and Philipp Kohlschreiber for the first time against the five-time champions" (SID, 12/5).
