Barcelona Leads Top European Football Clubs With More Than 58 Million Social Media Users

A report conducted by SBD Global showed that FC Barcelona leads all top European football clubs with more than 58 million social media followers. The Catalan club has more than 47 million fans on Facebook and more than 10 million Twitter followers. Barça is followed by league rival Real Madrid, which attracts more than 54 million users to its social media sites. The EPL's top social media club is ManU with more than 38 million users. Serie A side AC Milan leads the Italian league with more than 19.8 million followers, which ranks fifth among all the European clubs and far outdistances its second-place league rival Juventus, which has 9 million. Milan trails only the top two English and Spanish clubs in total social media followers. In Germany, Bayern Munich leads the way with more than 10 million followers. In France, Paris St. Germain holds the top spot with more than 6 million social media users. In terms of leagues, the EPL's following is the undisputed No. 1 with close to 14 million users on its official social media sites. The Premier League's presence is followed by La Liga (5,338,091), the Bundesliga (1,536,082), Serie A (1,519,111) and Ligue 1 (699,080).
