World Cup Rosters Total Up To $8.7B In Value, Euromericas Report Claims

Sports marketing agency Euromericas has released a study showing the combined market values of the rosters for the 32 national teams that will participate in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, according to CLARIN. The teams' rosters are valued at a total of €6.4B ($8.7B). Spain leads the way with a "roster headlined by Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Iker Casillas and Xabi Alonso." Spain's roster "is valuated" at €534M ($723.6M). In second place is host nation Brazil, with Neymar leading a squad valued at €508M ($688.4M). Argentina was third-highest at €497M ($673.5M), "due to the prices of Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuaín." Below is a "list of the 15 World Cup clubs with the most expensive rosters" (CLARIN, 11/22).
