Football Notes: AC Milan Fans End Protest At San Siro Stadium After Speaking To Players

An angry protest by "Ultras" fans finally ended outside AC Milan's San Siro stadium on Saturday nearly two hours after a 1-1 draw with Genoa, "but only after demands to speak to players had been met." Subjected to angry banners in the hardline Curva Sud (South Stand) throughout the game, "almost the entire San Siro turned against Milan at the final whistle when jeers and insults rained down on Massimiliano Allegri's men." Four-hundred fans then "gathered outside the stadium to block the exit of Milan's squad bus." TV pictures showed Kaka, "who returned to the club at the start of the season, and veteran goalkeeper Christian Abbiati meeting with fans in a bid to calm the situation" (AFP, 11/24). The Chinese FA "released a statement on its official website Friday that they are seeking for a new manager to replace" interim men's national team coach Fu Bo. The statement said the new manager will be responsible for the team's "attempt for the 2018 World Cup final, therefore the eventual new manager will probably receive a long-term contract" (XINHUA, 11/23). ... The South Korea FA announced Friday that it will create "multiple divisions for different levels of competition and also centralize officiating in the coming decades, as it celebrated the 80th anniversary as the national football governing body" (YONHAP, 11/22).
