Major League Baseball's Dodgers, Diamondbacks To Face Australian Team

Major League Baseball's L.A. Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks will warm up for their "historic" series at the Sydney Cricket Ground with "matches against the Australian national team," according to Adrian Proszenko of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. Team Australia "will take on the baseball heavyweights" on March 20 and 21, giving the Dodgers and Diamondbacks a "chance to adjust to local conditions before their two-game series starts the following day." The matches are a "huge boost for the local game, allowing the nation's best players to test themselves against two of the best franchises in the world." With the "official MLB matches all but sold out, the additional fixtures will give the Australian public another chance to catch the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks" (SMH, 11/19).
