Volvo Considers Adding More Cars To V8 Supercars Field In 2015

Volvo said that "it is already considering adding more cars to the V8 Supercars field as early as 2015," according to the AAP. The Swedish manufacturer "is set to join the category next season under the banner Volvo Polestar Racing, in partnership with existing outfit Garry Rogers Motorsport." The team "will race two of the brand's S60 model sedans, steered by Scott McLaughlin and a second yet-to-be-confirmed driver." Volvo Global Motorsport Exec Dir Derek Crabb said that "the prospect of having more S60s appealed to him." He said, "Clearly, the more cars on the grid, the more exposure Volvo gets and the more chances Volvo has of getting a win, which we need. But then you have to put the cost back into it. So yeah, we dream about year two and year three but let's get through year one first" (AAP, 11/11).
