Event Notes: Longines Hong Kong Masters To Receive Mega Events Fund Boost

The $1M Longines Hong Kong Masters showjumping event in February "could be boosted by a similar -- or larger -- sum by the Mega Events Fund." It is believed the Tourism Commission's MEF is set to approve funding of HK$10M ($1.3M) for the three-day event, "which will attract the world's top show-jumpers and their horses for the second successive year" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 11/7). ... Premier cage-fighting league Ultimate Fighting Championship "unveiled the fight card for its inaugural event in Singapore," slated to take place on Jan. 4. The event, which is also UFC's first in Southeast Asia, will see world-class fighters Jake Ellenberger and Tarec Saffiedine square off in a five-round welterweight battle. And on Monday, "the new kid on the block, Rebel Fighting Championship," will announce details of its own inaugural edition, which takes place next month (ASIA ONE, 11/7).
