Bundesliga Club FC Schalke Unveils Increased Revenue, Profit In Mid-Year Results

Bundesliga club FC Schalke "has revealed increased revenue and profit in its mid-year results ending June 30," according to the SID. The club unveiled a mid-year revenue of €85.8M and a mid-year profit of €13.2M. During the same time period last year, Schalke had a revenue of €77.8M and a profit of €5.9M. The reasons for the increased numbers in comparison to '12 "are increased income from transfers and sponsorships as well as higher TV revenue." In addition, the club was able to cut its payroll by €6.2M to €44.3M. The club "did not reveal its current debt," but at the same time last year Schalke had a debt of €173.1M (SID, 9/27).
