Former Spanish national football coach JAVIER CLEMENTE has reached an agreement with Libya to "take over as national team coach." Clemente will replace ABUL HAFIDH ERBEESH and take over a team recently eliminated from the 2014 World Cup (EL PAIS, 9/24). ... Spanish football coach QUIQUE SÁNCHEZ FLORES has been hired to coach UAE Pro-League side Al Ain. Flores replaces JORGE FOSSATI (MARCA, 9/25). ... Cricket Australia announced that former Zimbabwean and English batsman GRAEME HICK has been appointed to the role of High Performance Coach to be based at the CA Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. Hick fills the role vacated by former Australian Test player STUART LAW, who took up the position as head coach at Queensland Cricket. Hick played for Zimbabwe from '83-85 before moving to England to pursue a career as a professional cricketer. He first played for England in '91, playing 65 Tests before retiring in '01 (CA). ... The head of the Spanish Players Union, LUIS RUBIALES, "has been elected" as FIFPro VP. The former Levante defender "was elected alongside" new FIFPro President PHILIPPE PIAT "during a meeting of players association heads from each representative country" held in Holland last week (INSIDE SPANISH FOOTBALL, 9/24). ... Super League Rugby side Hull FC has appointed LEE RADFORD to replace PETER GENTLE as head coach "on a three-year deal." Gentle "was relieved of his duties on Tuesday." At the age of 34, Radford "becomes the youngest head coach in Super League" (BBC, 9/25). ... Nike Golf announced the appointment of DANIEL SCHENK to the position of EMEA marketing director, effective Dec. 1. Schenk, a 10-year veteran of Nike Golf, previously held roles including digital marketing manager and U.S. brand manager before moving into his current position as global brand integration director (GOLF BUSINESS, 9/25).
