UEFA President Michel Platini Says Organization To Take Measures To Eliminate Racism

UEFA President Michel Platini said that the organization "is ready to step up the fight against racism" in football "with tough measures including long bans on players and closure of stadiums," according to REUTERS. Platini: "We must do everything to clear racism so that there are no such incidents at any game." Platini said that UEFA "had decided to ban players or coaches making racist comments for at least 10 games, adding that stadiums where such incidents recur could be closed for good" (REUTERS, 9/10).
