Williams F1 team recorded a turnover of £43.5M ($68M) for the six months to June 30, closely matching the half-year turnover for '12 of £43.4M. Overall turnover for the Williams group for the half-year stands at £57.7M ($91M) compared to £64.9M in '12 (Williams F1). REUTERS' Alan Baldwin wrote Williams, "once the dominant team" in F1 with nine constructors' titles and seven drivers' crowns between '80 and '97, has scored just one point in 12 grands prix so far this season. The team said that the results of its investment businesses, Williams Hybrid Power and the Williams Technology Centre in Qatar, "were in line with a long-term business plan." Full year results "were expected to show group turnover" between £105M-113M ($165M-178M) compared to £127M in '12 (REUTERS, 9/9). The BBC reported Founder and Team Principal Frank Williams said that "the team had announced" a total of nine new sponsorship acquisitions, renewals and upgrades for '13, and "had a strong pipeline of potential sponsors" in place for '14 (BBC, 9/9).
