Event Notes: MotoGP To Race At Indianapolis Motor Speedway During '14 Season

MotoGP "will race at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the upcoming '14 season." The contract between the racetrack and Dorna, which holds the MotoGP rights, for '14 "was confirmed" during last weekend's U.S. Grand Prix. Recent speculations suggested that the race "might be dropped from next year's calendar" (SID, 8/18). ... On Tuesday, Afghanistan will host the country's first int'l football game "in a decade in a match against Pakistan." It will be the first game between the Pakistan and Afghanistan national teams since '77. The friendly "will take place in an Afghanistan Football Federation-owned stadium in Kabul" (EFE, 8/18).
