Sports Drink Maker Science In Sport Will Debut On London Junior Market This Week

Sports drink maker Science in Sports, which supplies Olympic athletes and has Gold Medalist Chris Hoy as a brand ambassador, "is poised to join AIM this week," according to Andrea Felsted of the FINANCIAL TIMES. The company will debut on the London Stock Exchange's junior market on Friday "when it demerges from Provexis Group." Science in Sports is expected to join AIM with "a market capitalisation" of about £11M ($16.8M). It has raised £2.25M ($3.4M)  "to fund investment in its Lancashire factory and increase working capital." The company "manufactures and supplies hydration, energy and recovery products to elite athletes and consumers." Science in Sport also supplies the GB Rowing team and a number of the cycling teams including Rapha Condor JLT, Belkin Pro Cycling, Pro Team Astana and Team Katusha. In total, the company supported 24 athletes or teams that "won medals at the London 2012 Olympics." The global sports nutrition market is estimated to be worth £19.6B ($30B) (FINANCIAL TIMES, 8/4).
