Bundesliga TSG Hoffenheim Managing Dir JOCHEN ROTTHAUS revealed that "he will leave the club when his contract expires in '14 at the latest." Rotthaus said that he "owes the club a lot" but wants "to take on new challenges" (SPORT, 7/25). ... Paraguayan national football team coach VICTOR GENES was presented by the team on Saturday. Genes will coach Paraguay in its final four World Cup qualifiers of the year as the club takes on Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela (AP, 7/27). ... Spanish third division side Albacete's "only three remaining members" of its board of directors, President AGUSTÍN LÁZARO, VP FRANCISCO PLAZA and Dir JOSÉ CARLOS MARTÍNEZ, "have announced their resignation." Lázaro said in a statement, "We announce our irrevocable resignation given the recent complete lack of sporting and institutional support" (MARCA, 7/27). ... TENGKU TAN SRI MAHALEEL TENGKU ARIFF "has been given the mandate" to become the Badminton Association of Malaysia CEO after receiving "unanimous support from the council members at the Annual General Meeting" on Saturday. It was a "no contest as Mahaleel was elected by the BAM council members in unison." He replaces DATUK SERI MOHD NADZMI SALLEH, who has gone on to become the Badminton Asian Confederation president last month after "helming BAM for 13 years" (THE STAR, 7/28). ... Eurosport Group announced the appointment of GURSHARAN SETHI as SVP of affiliate sales and marketing, Eurosport Asia-Pacific. Sethi started July 1, taking over from ARJEN HOEKSTRA, "who moved to the new channels new partner," Discovery Int'l (ISPORTCONNECT, 7/27).
